Do you have Stables NFTs and wondering what S-Points are? In this tutorial, we explain everything you need to know about the in-game currency of Stables: S-Points.
A Quick Introduction to S-Points
As you all know, the in-game currency is called S-Points. S-Points can be obtained by playing or by purchasing them and are used in the game to buy items, participate in races, and even purchase NFTs. However, S-Points are not yet a token, but we plan to introduce them on Tezos by the end of 2023. They will not be freely allocated/distributed, and for every S-Point issued, an equivalent amount will be locked in a "Treasury" account.
How can I earn S-Points right now?
S-Points provided with packs
First and foremost, it is important to note that you have already received S-Points through the various packs available during the first sale last March. The distribution of these S-Points was done automatically, and no manual action is required on your part.
S-Points through "passive earnings" based on real-life races
One of the main features of NFTs is that they passively earn S-Points when the real-life twin horse earns an allocation in a Premium race. Only Premium races, not PMH races, are taken into account when calculating S-Point earnings. You can consult the list of Premium races right here: https://www.letrot.com/fr/courses/calendrier-resultats
Once all the Premium races of a day are finished, our algorithm determines the number of S-Points to be associated with each horse that has received an allocation. When this calculation is completed, you can then claim your S-Points. Claiming your S-Points is a manual process that can be done in your stable. By connecting your wallet, a notification appears - only if you have S-Points to claim. Click on the notification and then on the CLAIM button.
My horses are not earning S-Points or are no longer racing in real life. Is it a problem?
Some horses - less competitive than others - may never earn S-Points. This situation is not dramatic. The fact that a horse does not earn S-Points or is no longer racing in real life will not impact the experience in the Stables game. We will give people who have no S-Points the opportunity to buy them before the inaugural race.
What can I do with my S-Points?
As mentioned in the introduction, in the short term, you will be able to use your S-Points to register your horses for the very first race in the history of Stables, the inaugural race. In the long term, you will be able to buy items, participate in races, and even purchase NFTs with S-Points.
I bought a horse on the secondary market, and it is not earning S-Points. What can I do?
Patience, Racer! We will open an S-Point shop just before the inaugural race so that everyone can participate in this historic first race.
The Future of S-Points: a Token or not a Token?
To make S-Points a token, we are first waiting for the Tezos layer 2 (expected by the third quarter of 2023, if all goes well). We will use our own roll-up, so there will be no gas.
What do the regulations say about tokens
First and foremost, it is important to consider that in-game currencies and gambling are heavily regulated, which is good news for players. Therefore, we cannot engage in any form of compensation for players (no play-to-earn). However, we are very supportive of regulatory changes and hope that they will happen.
